Hull York Medical School

Postgraduate Teaching

CHaPS offers postgraduate training opportunities at both PhD and MD level in the areas of our expertise. In addition to specific skills developed during the research project, we ensure that a range of generic cross disciplinary skills are developed through a Post-Graduate Training Scheme. Studentships within CHaPS are available on a regular basis, adverts for which will appear on this website and on the main HYMS website. Furthermore we welcome any individuals interested in pursuing higher research degrees within CHaPS to contact us directly. If you are interested in pursuing post-graduate studies here in CHaPS, please explore our research interests. Informal contact can be made with potential project supervisors or through Sandi Newby or Claire Ward who will forward your details onto the appropriate supervisor.

Members of the centre also contribute to the taught MPH and MSc programmes run by the Department of Health Sciences.

In addition there is an option under the HYMS regulations to undertake an MSc by research. This is often the option chosen by Academic Training Fellows, but is available to others. Please see our research interests and contact us if you need further information about this.

We are committed to supporting the development of academic medical careers. The Academic Training Programme in North East Yorks and North Lincolnshire is led by the Academic Training Programme Director, Prof Una Macleod Deputy Director, Professor Miriam Johnson, who are both members of CHaPS.
